Neobone® in Alveolar Ridge Preservation

Neobone® in Alveolar Ridge Preservation: Six-Month Clinical Results

Neobone® is a synthetic, resorbable biphasic calcium phosphate bone substitute, composed of hydroxyapatite and beta-tricalcium phosphate, manufactured by Bioceramed in Portugal. This clinical evidence summary presents the six-month interim results of a prospective, single-centre, single-arm observational study conducted at Egas Moniz School of Health and Science under Dr. João Botelho.

Thirty-one adult patients undergoing alveolar ridge preservation after tooth extraction were enrolled. Bone regeneration and bone volume were assessed by CBCT, alongside adverse events, device deficiencies, patient-reported pain measured with the VAS, and oral health-related quality of life measured with the OHIP-14.

At six months, radiographic bone regeneration was observed in 6 of the first 10 patients assessed, and all six sites were considered clinically viable for implant placement. Pain and quality-of-life scores returned to baseline levels within seven days of surgery. No adverse events or device deficiencies related to Neobone® were recorded.

The study is ongoing. The full document sets out the results in detail, together with follow-up rates and study limitations. To request the complete Clinical Investigation Report, contact sales@bioceramed.com.
